Dazzling "Diva"

Hi blog hoppers, i have just done my final card for Mo's dream team and let me just say, its a sad moment :(
To add to that i cant tell you enough what an honour it has been for me to have worked with the ladies on Mo's dream team, they are the most helpfull forthcoming lot of ladies that i have had the fortune to work with on the Net at large, you girls rock!

For my final card i decided that i just had to use this little darling "Diva" available for purchase from Mo HERE.

When i first saw her i had plans on adding feathers to her boa, etc, etc.  Well i did none of the things i had planned and then decided that if she is the Diva, she needs lots of bling!

I colored her with my copics, added rhinestones for her necklace and then teeny tiny pearls for the earings, used a new MS punch curved arches around the page, stitched around the first layer of dp, found this fluffy trim in my stash that i thought would look fabby, adding lots of rhinestone flourishes, and the silver butterflies and last but not least i found this beautiful little charm shoe that looks just like a diva's shoe so i had to add that to the string of fluff.

Whiff of joy challenge dt

Can you believe that its been two weeks since the last challenge for whiff of joy challenges, time is certainly running away from me these dasy, they say as you get older time seems to go faster, but i never believed it till now.  Well time now for another challenge on WOJ challenge blog, and this week we have a great sketch by the very talented Kim.

I seem to have gone a little monochrome mad these days, feeling the same i geuss that its just my mood reflected in my work.  I had to use the bride and swing, since they are so neglected since i have so many new stamps to play with, i also used lots of my cuttlebug embossing folders that never see the light of day, added a touch of diamond stickles to help some of the flower fantasy embossing, image was colored with copics, and then i added tow different colored roses, essentially they are both shades of white i geuss, he he.  Added lots of diamond stickles to my brides veil and voila!

Challenges are so much fun since you can win something and then of course since we are using a sketch this week it couldnt be easier so i hope you'll pop along and join us.

A spoonfull of sugar dt

Hi there all you blog hoppers, did ya think that a broken ankle would put me out of action permanently? I mean its the ankle not the brain, he he.  Well i am back up and hopping around with this huge big moon boot thingy, but i think i gotta get rid of that too as its really clumsy.
Anywho on with this weeks challenge.  Debbie set the challenge this week on ASFOS, Animal crackers, yep you gotta have some kinda animal on your card, there is a little twist this week as we had to get our daughters, sons, mothers, whoever you could team up with to make a card also. We are being sponsored this week by whimsy stamps who are gonna give the lucky entrant 5 free digi's of their choice.

My 7 year old daughter fancies herself an artist and now thinks cos she has been featured in cyber space she's gonna be famous.  Well i dont even know who the stamp is by that she colored the image of since it was stamped for me by a friend, and i just let her look through the already stamped images to choose what she wanted to color.  She used derwent aqua pencils and one of my paintbrushes for the blending, initially she was so excited and thought she was gonna use my copics, but that wasnt happening.  I did have to cut the layers for her and tie the ribbon, but all the rest was all her work.  She got so involved in doing this that she colored an additional image that i am gonna post here also.

Then for my card i just HAD to use another one of Mo's digi images, and this one is called "Patience" available HERE.  i used a sketch for my card and now cant remember where i got the sketch from so will have to start blog hopping to find it.  Colored my image with copics and the dp is from paper pizzaz.
When i cut my image i just thought i gotta make it look like this poor kitty is trying to claw her way away from this little terror, so i put her claw and tail out of the side of the mat, he he, poor kitty tat.
HA!! i found the place that i got the sketch from, sketch Saturday so thats where i am gonna enter this card of mine.

Totally gorjuss dt

Hi blog hoppers, the week is running away from me, and this week over on our challenge blog for Totally gorjuss the girls are complaining of the same thing, time just passing us by.  This week we have an awesome challenge happening for you to make a "gift bag", how cool is that?

I found this awesome origami bag HERE, with a great tutorial, so easy to follow and decided that this bag would be the idea.

I am using another one of my fairly new Magnolia images for this challenge, Princess Tilda, she is just so pretty with her formal wear on.  Unfortunately you cant actually see the glitz too well, but she is just too darling.  I also foundt his great roll of wallpaper and thought great its also big enough to make a sizable gift bag with instead of one of those dinky ones.  I also didnt want to cover it all so i have kept the embellishments to a bare minimum, so just a bit of lace and a few pearls and then the lush ribbon over the handle with a rose centre.

Hope you will pop over to our challenge blog and come play with us this week.

Mo's bye bye girl and combined challenges

Hi all you stalkers, hope the week started off well.  I must just add that mine is going terrible, dont ask how dont ask where, cos your geuss is as good as mine, but i somehow managed to break my ankle over the weekend.  Just woke up on Saturday morning looking like i have elephantitus in my right leg, and its purple to boot.  To add insult to injury we live in a duplex, upstairs and downstairs, so you can well imagine how i am feeling, and my studio is downstairs :(

I did however manage to get a couple of things done in the studio this weekend and i will be entering this one in a few challenges listed below.  I love Mo's images as i am sure you have heard me say on a number of occasions and this one is no exception, she is available HERE, she's called "bye bye"

Dp is locally South African made by Dalro designs, image colored with copics, flowers ladybugs and embellies from my stash.

I followed the sketch on Sketch Saturday so this will be entered there
DU2DS: blooms and butterflies
Stamp something: summer
Stamptacular Sunday: cute as a bug and if you add a baby its an extra entry.
Hope you enjoy this as much as i enjoyed putting it together,
 Have a great week

Totally gorjuss dt

I know that this post is gonna be long winded and probably only go out later today, i am having major pc problem this morning as everytime i try and do something, the darn thing seems to shut down on me.
So this week on the Totally gorjuss challenge blog we wanted sugar and spice

Deep red always talks to me about "Spice and then of course Sugar is a more muted color tone as in the light vanilla color tones.  I am using my fairy dust Tilda as she hasnt been inked up yet and i have just loved her forever.I have used one of MS punches for around the card base and around my image.

The starbusrts are a punch from McGill, i gave them a good dollop of glue and dipped them into some sparkly flock that i have, i also gave the fairy dust that Tilda is blowing a good going over with the sparkly flock, however much to my dismay, oh Flock! you cant see the flock in the photo's.  I added some rhinestones, teeny tiny ones to the ends of the starbusrts, thank goodness you can definitely see those.
The barrel that she's sitting on is a local SA stamp that i found last week at a local stamp store, nice Huh?
Not sure if this picture is gonna be much help but these are the copics i used.

We're being sponsore this week byCrafters companion where you can get all your hearts desire, so i do hope you gonna play along with us.

Kenny K's new digi's

sure by now that you have all noticed that there is a new digi designer out there who is making some fabulous images, i LOVE them and couldnt resist when i noticed this morning that the web shop was open, I HAD TO HAVE!  The dt challenge is HERE if you would like to get onto the dt, hurry girls.

Well since i got the rock star this morning i had to use her, so i followed the sketch on Anabelle stamps so that i could enter their challenge also.

Colored my image with copics, used loads of glittah!, gave her lovely glittah eyeshadow, dp is from Stacy Claire Boyd.
Gonna enter this into Charisma Cardz challenge also since it has the BLING!

Cupcake craft challenge

Hi blog hoppers, i been quite busy with all the cold weather we are having in SA at the moment, You would never geuss we lived in Africa, -4 degrees in the morning with a high of 7 degrees, whats with that?  Thought there was a whoo haa about global warming, there is nothing warm about whats happening here.

My son is having his Brithday on the 1st July and i thought better to be prepared and at the same time i am gonna enter this one into the Cupcake craft challenge.

My son is in IT, and is a serious gamer, he goes away on weekend gaming events where they take sleeping bags, food and definitley their own pc to boot.  Seems they spend the whole weekend 24hrs a day gaming and competing, they all have gaming names also.  My sons gaming name is caRnAGE, when you look only at the capitals it spells RAGE, anywho, whatever!
This is another one of Mo's fabulous images available HERE, which i thought was absolutely appropriate for Jason.

Mo's dream team blog hop

Hi blog hoppers, this is such an exciting event for me as i am the geust for Mo's dream team this month and i cannot begin to put inot words how much i am LOVING IT!
If you have arrived here from Kerttu's blog, then you are right on track and should follow on from here to Jak's fab blog in the hopping order of things.
This month the them for the dt girls in the hop is GLITTAH!!how lucky could a girl get?  I mean i just cant resist the stuff, sometimes i come out of my studio looking like a decoration, he he.  Now the other thing that i just cannot resist is Mo's amazing images.  So instead of one i had to use two, since i made both of these not knowing which one i would use, i am gonna post them both.

The first one i wanna share with you is Baby fairy Flora available from Mo's store here!
Mo's wonderful images are so easy to glitz, the possibilities are endless.
The second card is a newer image from Mo and she is called "Kissy" available at Mo's store here
Doesnt she look like you could just kiss her?
Now dont forget to continue on the hop you need to go to Jak's blog and if you didnt arrive here from Kerttu you may want to start at the Beginning with Shell to see all the fabulous projects these wonderful girls have to inpire you.

Whiff of joy dt

My it feels like ages that i actually posted a card for WOJ challenges.  This week we have a photo inspiration challenge, and i must say that since it was a photo as inspiration, you could go any way you want with it.  Use the colors in the phot, look at the layout of the elements, interpret it any way you like.
And this is my interpretation:
And the inside of my card, instead of having the genie coming out of the lamp i had hime coming out of the Nagilla.  Stamps i used are from the April kit.  you GOTTA see what the rest of the dt have done, such a talented lot of girls these are, so head over the challenge blog and perhaps they will inspire you to join.

Aggrieved!!!

Is the correct term aggrieved or aggravated?Who cares i am really cheesed off.  It was brought to my attention by a friend that someone who is on one of the Mag dt's actually copied one of my ideas and didnt see fit to give me the credit for the idea.  Sure some of the other bloggers out there have had this happen to them before, i just think we all work so hard to set our feet on sturdy ground working for some companies on their dt's to promote their wonderful stamps and to get a little recognition for our efforts yet even although we ask people not to "steal" from us, people just dont care and think its fair.
By all means share your ideas to inspire is what its all about, but give credit where credit is due.

DT call

Bearly mine crafts have a new range of stamps coming which are way WOW! so to showcase these new little darlings they are having a dt call, looking for 8 DT members.  Follow the link Here and go see what they are looking for, personally i think this may be a wonderful opportunity for anyone.  These little darling stamps are to die for and would inspire the most creatively blocked person in a flash.

A spoon full of sugar dt

Hi there all you blog hoppers, its Tuesday so time for our challenge on ASFOS and we are being sponsored this week by Di's digi downloads who also kindly gave us dt members the wonderful illustrations to work with for this challenge.  I'm using a message from mouse this week, he is such a cutie.  I used the sketch from sketch Saturday for this card, makes life so much easier to have a sketch, and because i love this dp from Calambour i didnt want to add too many embellishments, so i just made another little bouquet to add to the card mimicking the one she is holding.

Its freezing in SA today, so if you live locally bundle up warm and have a great week.  Looks like its gonna be freezing this winter, not that i mind, but then its gotta snow!

Tilda combined challenges

Hi blog hoppers, bet you thought i was watching the football, oh no my friends, not me, i am not a football fan, my DH plays three times a week and good for him, keeps him fit, but i just couldnt give a rats a*$ about the game.  Right now there is also all the noise of the vuvuzela's and not confined to the stadium either, its in the suburbs day and night, what a racket.

Well today i have been quite busy, made four or five cards but they wont all be posted today, but in the next few days as the challenges come up. this card i used the sketch from Just Magnolia, and then i am gonna also be entering this in the Meljens designs since they want sparkle and glitz, then of course i couldnt not enter the Magnolialicious birthday bash.  A rather simple card since i am following the sketch and that took away all the geuss work, added some flattened bead caps and rhinestones onto layered flowers, colored my image with copics, also gave it lots of stardust stickles, so that the yellowed bits would take on the appearance of being gold.

Totally gorjuss dt

Hi blog hoppers, its time again for Totally gorjuss challenge, as i am sure you know by now there is always something really yummy for the winner so i hope you would consider joining us.  this week its a REAL challenge, if you are anything like me.  "BOYS".  I'm using another one of Mo's digi images for the challenge this week and this gorjuss image is available HERE.  and the stamps name is 'Buds"

I think this is just adorable, but i have major panic attacks when creating Boy cards, i am one of those more girls and boy cards need less embellishing, or should i say there isnt much besides for buttons and a very few other things to embellish boy cards with.

I was so excited, as this week i managed to get my hands on a second hand seing machine for R450, i thought GREAT! now i can stitch on my cards, yeah RIGHT! i must have the worst luck, i switched the thing on in preparation and two mins later there was a big bang and Lots of smoke.  So the machine went up in smoke.  Well off i went to Elna today and we will see if it can be repaired.  None the less i managed to hand stitch on the two sides of my card and select palces on the tag, i added some hessian, and a few buttons, another easel card, love these cards they always look so swathe.

Have a great weekend girls, will be crafting a lot in the nexr few days got lots to catch up on and my kids will be home for holidays while we are having the world cup in SA.
