My Absence

Hello friends

Please note that I will be absent from blogland until further notice.  I thought I just had another sinus infection and was feeling so wasted that I went to see the doctor.

I have pneumonia and had I left it for another day, who know how much worse it could have been.  I am on cortisone and antibiotics, so as you can imagine, I am not feeling myself.

Hoping to be back soon.

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

Our new challenge for Mo's challenge blog is up and running and i am running ever so late.  Will get to all the excuses shortly, first off our challenge this week is "Bling it on with a Mo image"
As per my usual style of brain drain i forgot to check the challenge specs before merrily making my card, i had added pearls and was doing my own thing when it dawned on me i had better check, hells bells!!! i had to pull all the pearls i had glued around my image off and then add the rhinestones, no major tradgedy thank goodness. My image is available from Mo's digi store HERE, its called "singing in the rain"  such a cutie.
All these other bits and bobs are from the never ending stash.
Now if you have kids and an ailing aging parent visitng you will know and understand why i am so late.  I know my friend, dt sistah and Mo's team leader has none of the above and thats why she emailed me to ask what happened to my card this week.  Let me tell you today was one of those days, i drop the kids off on time, unlike Monday when i was half hour late.  I came racing home to start a scrapping class that i teach on Thursdays, only to get a call to go back to the school my little one is coughing and may be contagious! "What?"  she has croup, have you ever heard of anyone catching croup?  not in this life, anyhow i bring her home and it just got worse as the day progressed, wont bore you with all the details, but if you can relate to any of the above you will know what i mean when i say that the day went down the tubes from having to pick up my little one at school.
So there you have it, hope you will come and play at Mo's this week

The paper shelter dt

Challenge #55 on the Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time its "For the boys"
i can see some of you scratching your heads and saying "i dont know what to do for boy cards"  well there's tons of inspiration on the challenge blog so head over and see what the dt have done.  Also in case you havent noticed there are also tons of really cute images in the Paper shelter shop just for such occasions when you are a little stumped for boys.
I have used Little cowboy available HERE, colored with my copics, the sentiment i used one of my random alpha stamps onto star die cuts from spellbinders, then i couldnt find my bakers twine which i really wanted to add to this card, alas i just pulled out some string and made my own.
have a great weekend see you all real soon

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

Can you believe this, my second posting this week, oh yeah!! thats cos we have our new challenge up for Mo's challenge blog and this week its "Buttons and bows"
I have to admit that i made this card without checking the specs for the challenge AGAIN! and forgot the buttons and bows, luckily i had more than enough room to add them and again luckily i have these teeny tiny buttons that work with what i made.
I had decided on my image and colored it when it struck me that the droopy goo punch from MS would work so well with this darling Mo image available HERE.  Normally i would color my image to match the paper, but since with this i hadnt i just kinda  made it work with different color cardstock that i punched and made to look like running paint.

I am really chuffed with this little darling and havent felt so pleased about my creative (genius) or lack thereof for quite sometime.
have a great weekend and do join in the fun at Mo's

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

We have a fabulous new challenge for you over on Mo's challenge blog, "Something new"
It could be a new idea, a new craft stash, whatever is new to you.

Now this isnt exactly new, but it is something new that i am doing:  When i was a kid i loved getting birthday cards shaped like numbers and i remember by the time i was around ten and getting over the novelty of numbers, it was sad that there was no longer the excitement of getting a card with my birthday number on it.

So for my card i decided to make a number card, it is a  simple one, but i love how it turned out.
the image of course is from Mo's store HERE, colored with my trusty copics, given the little lace and ruffle detail a good going over with stickles, added teeny tiny pearls to the tops of the bunting that spell Happy Birthday.
The paper is really old and its from Sandy Lion, Barbie range.
Do join our challenge i look forward to seeing whats new to you

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

Our Fab new challenge is up and running on Mo's challenge blog and its one of those really easy challenges where you get to do whatever you like, if you like sketches we have one for you by our fabulous Iulia, or you can wing it without the sketch and make what suits you as long as it has a Mo image.
I used Tom and Tilly  available from Mo's store HERE,colored with my copics.  The dp is from my BFF and if my memory serves me she said it was MME, i also cased this idea from her of adding a section of my image to the inside of my card, thanks Barb, you are always a great source of inspiration while my mojo is on vacation.
I used the sketch provided on the challenge blog so the geuss work was taken out of the equation when making my card.
the sentiment on the inside is computer generated and those corners, for those of you that follow my blog and live in SA i supply them locally so get in touch if you would like to order.
have a great weekend
